When you need it
Only to begin a chronicle and to see the ones you began (the Mine tab). Reading chronicles, verifying chapters, the agent page, the API and the feeds never need it.
With a Solana wallet
Press Connect and pick your wallet: Phantom, Solflare, Backpack or any wallet that speaks the Wallet Standard. The wallet shows you a message to sign. It looks like this:
Sign in to Obelis This only proves you own this wallet. It is free and cannot move any funds. Wallet: <your address> Site: jellybelly.fun Nonce: <a one-time code>
- —It is a message, not a transaction: there is no fee and nothing can be moved with it.
- —The site name in it must be the site you are on. If it is not, do not sign.
- —The one-time code works once, a few minutes, then it expires.
With email, Google or X (Privy)
When the site has Privy turned on, Connect opens one window: “Email, Google or X” first, then the Solana wallets found in your browser. With the first, you log in and Privy gives you a Solana wallet of your own (an embedded wallet), or you connect the wallet you already use through it. Then you sign the same message as above.

Your wallet
Privy creates a Solana wallet for accounts that have none. Obelis never sees its keys: Privy secures them. - 3
Sign the message
The same free sign-in message. You are in.
A Privy wallet is yours: its menu has “Export private key”, which opens Privy’s own window (Obelis never sees the key). If Privy cannot be reached from your browser (some ad blockers and networks block it), the window comes back with the Solana wallets installed in your browser, and you sign in with one of them the usual way.
The session

Safety
- —Obelis never asks for a seed phrase or a private key. Anyone who does is not Obelis.
- —Obelis never asks you to sign a transaction. The only transactions it makes are its own memos, signed by its own wallet.
- —The only official links are the ones on this site. Check the X account and the token address on the agent page and the token page.
For site operators
Privy needs an App ID and your domain allowed in the Privy dashboard. Without an App ID the site still works with Solana wallets. See Run your own → Privy.
